Egypt’s El Khatib explores green investments with Income

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib met with Chairman of International Company for Petroleum & Industrial Services (Income), the Egyptian partner of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), and a group of green energy investors to discuss new investment opportunities aimed at driving sustainable economic growth.

The discussions covered Atlas Project, a global data centre complex powered by a dedicated solar energy plant, reinforcing Egypt’s push for sustainable digital infrastructure, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Tuesday.

The meeting also addressed Rosetta Minerals Project, which focuses on processing and manufacturing kaolin sand to boost industrial development, enhance local production, and increase exports.

Additionally, they reviewed plans for a dry bulk and general cargo terminal at Sokhna Port.

El Khatib reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting investments in renewable energy and digital infrastructure, highlighting efforts to localise clean energy manufacturing, including solar glass panels and key components for renewable energy plants.
