Egypt’s Engineering Consultants Group executes multi-use project in Qatar

Egypt’s Engineering Consultants Group (ECG) is mandated to implement a mixed-used development project on a total plot area of 110,00 square metres in the Doha Airport Road in Qatar.

The project is located in Al-Najma area, in favour of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdulrahman bin Saoud Al-Thani.

ECG is in charge of the designs covering all engineering requirements, including the parking ventilation and smoke evacuation systems.

The mixed-use development project is designed to be a landmark on the Airport Road in Al-Najma area of Doha on a total built-up area of 17,000 square metres, said Amr Allouba, chairman of ECG.

Allouba further said the project includes a three-floor basement consisting of 750 parking spaces, in addition to a podium to build retail shopping centres over 12,000 square metres, and two buildings with seven floors each.

The first building consists of a four-start hotel with 207 rooms, with a roof of around 1,000 square metres for leisure functions including a spa, pool deck, and gymnasium. The second building includes offices with a total built-up area of 32,000 square metres, each floor is divided into six office spaces for rent, he added.

The project also includes a 12 MVA electrical substation, with back-up generators, 2500 TR chiller plant with cooling towers and reverse osmosis plants for the polishing of treated sewage effluent and treatment of cooling towers’ blowdown water, Allouba stated.
