Egypt’s food exports hit record high in ’24 – FEC chairman

Egypt’s export sector achieved record-breaking figures in 2024, a success attributed to exporters’ efforts, said Mahmoud Bazan, Chairman of the Food Export Council (FEC), on Thursday.

These remarks were shared ahead of Egypt’s participation in Gulfood 2025, a major global food industry expo. Taking place from February 17-21, 2025, the exhibition will feature 140 Egyptian manufacturing firms.

He revealed that the council aims for an annual export growth rate of 15 per cent, supported by government initiatives and enhanced coordination among state agencies, which have facilitated access to new markets.

Bazan also emphasised the importance of international exhibitions like Gulfood in promoting Egyptian food industries and expressed the sector’s limitless ambitions to serve the national economy and attract more investments.
