Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Discusses Enhancing Cooperation With Algeria

Dr Youssef Ahmed El Sharkawy, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Maghreb and Libya, has held a meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the representatives of all the concerned national authorities, in cooperation with Algeria, as well as representatives of Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), businessmen and the construction companies. This meeting was to get to know the current executive situations and to discuss the ways of bolstering the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

El Sharkawy has asserted that the meeting came to support the bilateral relations between Egypt and Algeria in all joint cooperation fields, and to take up the ways of following up the implementation of what have agreed on between the two countries during the visit of Dr Hesham Kandil, Egyptian Premier, to Algeria. The meeting has aimed at developing the bilateral cooperation fields, political, economic and investing fields.

The Assistant Minister has underlined the necessity of the economic and investing cooperation between the two countries, as Algeria is the first destination for the Egyptian investments abroad (about $6 billion), in the light of the Egyptian companies’ contribution to implementing the programs of developing the infrastructure and technology in Algeria.
