Egypt’s Furniture Exports Council organising trade mission to Kenya in Q1 2019

Egypt’s Furniture Exports Council is organising a trade mission to Kenya and other surrounding countries during February or March 2019, its head  Ehab Deryas said.

He added on the side lines of Furnex and Home Exhibition that the trade mission is in the frame work of expanding in the African market during the upcoming period.

Deryas further noted that vast number of the companies operating in the sector will participate in the upcoming mission which is being carried out in cooperation with other governmental entities.

He pointed out that this comes in line with the Council efforts in developing  sector’s exports of $ 350 million annually  to $ 800 million annually over the next 10 years.

The foreign trade volume within the furniture sector has reached $500 million of which $180 million the amount of imports, he noted.

The annual Furnex and Home Exhibition will kick off last Thursday and last till November 25, said the Egyptian Furniture Export Council (EFEC).

The exhibition hosts the top manufacturers, exporters and traders in Egypt serving both the domestic market, as well as the regional and international markets.

It features the latest trends and design ideas in the entire continent.

Described as the largest trade fair in Africa in terms of size, number of exhibitors and visitors, it utilizes a gross space of 50,000 square meters over nine halls in both Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Center and Cairo Stadium in Nasr City.
