Egypt’s GDP rises 5.5% in three months

Egypt’s gross domestic product (GDP) went up by 5.5 percent during the October-December 2018 period from 5.3 percent during the same period in 2017, said Planning Ministry on Wednesday.

Egypt targets GDP growth up to 5.8 percent within the financial year 2018/2019.

Two government sources earlier said Egypt’s gross domestic product increased by around 5.6 percent during the first half of financial year 2018/2019, compared with 5.2 percent a year earlier.
