Egypt’s Govt: Tourism’s Revenues In 4 Months Hit $3.4 bln

On Tuesday morning, the Egyptian cabinet unveiled that the number of the inbound tourism to Egypt during April 2013 reached 1.1 million tourists, rose by 5.2% than a year before.

The number of the touristic nights amounted to 11.1 million nights; achieving $ 778 million revenues. The European countries acquired the biggest share in the number of the inbound tourists to Egypt, as to 76.7%, followed by the Middle East countries by 13.9%.

The council elaborated that the number of the inbound tourists to Egypt rose from April to January by 11.8% to reach 4 million tourists, and the number of the touristic nights increased by 17.4% to 48.2 million nights. The revenues amounted to $ 3.4 billion (16.2%), compared to the same period of the last year.

The increase of the inbound tourism to Egypt, from January to April 2013, is remarkable although all the incidents are taking place in Egypt.
