Egypt’s Housing executes 7,200 residential units in Alexandria: Minister

Egyptian Housing Ministry is currently executing a number of projects in Alexandria including housing units as well as water and sanitation plants, Minister Mustafa Madbouly said Monday.

The ministry completed 6,192 housing units in the Social Housing project in New Borg El Arab city, 48 km south-west of central Alexandria, and is currently establishing another 7,200 units, the minister noted.

Madbouly stated that the Housing Ministry is also executing a water plant in south of El Alamein with capacity of 166,000 cubic metres/day and cost estimated at 257 million Egyptian pounds ($13.8 million).

The Egyptian official further referred that his ministry is working on a sanitation project worth 12 billion pounds. the sanitation plant is scheduled to be completed in April 2017.

Madbouly noted that the ministry is implementing additional projects in favor of Alexandria including the expansion of Cleopatra road tunnel that costs 50 million pounds.
