Egypt’s ITIDA to Offer 2nd Bid for Tablets by August

Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) is planning to offer the second tender in order to product 10.000 Egyptian tablets with local production within the current year.

Eng. Yasser El-Kady, CEO of ITIDA, said the Agency is about to finalize putting conditions of the II tender to produe 10.000 tablets.

El-Kady added to Amwal Al Ghad that it is expected distributing a number of tablets within days after the feast.

He added that it is agreed with Banha company for Electronic Industries to complete  manufacturing around 2000-3000 Tablets during a few coming weeks and to start delivering them for the students in the framework of the ministry’s plan to manufacture and distribute 10.000 tablets in the school students.

He has explained that ITITDA holds a new tender process so as to manufacture a second batch of Egyptian tablet computers after the succeeding of the first experiment, which is based on a consortium in Benha and start manufacturing tablets.

The Information and Communication Technology Ministry (MCIT) offered during the last year the first tender for implementing tablets manufacture project locally and Banha company won the tender in order to implement the project by producing 10.000 tablets with cost up about EGP 10 million bearing by ITIDA.
