Egypt’s M2 money supply grows 17.2% y-o-y in July – central bank

Egypt’s M2 money supply grew by 17.2 percent year-on-year in July, central bank statistics published on Tuesday showed.

Money supply stood at 5.43 trillion Egyptian pounds ($346 billion), up from 4.63 trillion pounds a year earlier.

Egypt’s domestic liquidity also rose to 5.425 trillion pounds at the end of July from 5.360 trillion pounds in June, the central bank statistics added.

The growth in domestic liquidity was reflected in the growth of the quasi-money to around 4.139 trillion pounds from 4.102 trillion pounds.
