Egypt’s oil firms post key FY2025/2026 figures

Egypt’s Petroleum Pipelines Company transported more than 8.2 billion ton-km of crude oil and petroleum products through its 6,300-kilometre pipeline network during FY 2025/2026. Assiut Oil Refining (ASORC) produced petroleum products worth around $3 billion.

The figures were presented on Saturday during the companies’ general assemblies chaired by Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi.

Petroleum Pipelines operates 155 storage depots with a total capacity of 2.5 million cubic metres. The company is expanding Sokhna Terminal, which will raise storage capacity from 300,000 to 460,000 cubic metres.

Badawi directed Petroleum Pipelines to prepare a five-year plan to expand its crude and petroleum products transport capacity and improve infrastructure efficiency.

Meanwhile, ASORC processed 3.314 million tons of crude during the fiscal year, with high-value products accounting for around 57 per cent of total output.

The company produced 62,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), up 10 per cent, 366,000 tons of 80-octane gasoline, up 3 per cent, and 419,000 tons of 92-octane gasoline, up 15 per cent. Jet fuel production reached 115,000 tons, while diesel output rose 20 per cent to 911,000 tons.

ASORC is also developing a third distillation unit that will increase its annual refining capacity from 4.5 million to 9.5 million tons of crude.
