Egypt’s Petrogas FY25-26 budget approved to strengthen LPG supply, infrastructure

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy has approved on Monday the 2025-2026 fiscal budget for Petroleum Gas Company (Petrogas).

The announcement came during a high-level meeting attended by Minister of Local Development Manal Awad alongside senior petroleum officials, and representatives from the Central Auditing Organisation (CAO) and the General Trade Union for Petroleum Workers (GTUPW).

During the meeting, Minister Badawy highlighted PetroGas’s strategic role in the ministry’s six-pillar strategy, particularly in ensuring the daily supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders to meet public demand. He emphasised modernising storage facilities, filling plants, and distribution networks, alongside maintaining strict health and safety standards to safeguard workers and facilities.

The minister also called for greater gender balance in the petroleum sector workforce and urged enhanced training programmes in technical, administrative, and digital transformation fields. He expressed gratitude to Petrogas employees for stabilising the LPG market, particularly during the high-demand winter season.

Mohamed Farahat, chairman of Petrogas, outlined the key aspects and projects of the investment budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-2025. He highlighted the efforts made to enhance the infrastructure, filling stations, production facilities, and distribution networks for the company’s LPG cylinders. Additionally, he outlined the planned projects and the progress of the LPG trading monitoring system, using the SCADA system, which has become a successful model for achieving digital transformation in the petroleum sector.
