Egypt’s PM opens Na Trans Egypt fertiliser factory in Sokhna

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inaugurated the Na Trans Egypt (NTE) Fertilisers and Chemicals factory during his tour of the integrated Sokhna Industrial Zone on Sunday.

The factory has current investments of $10 million and spans 18,000 square metres, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of phosphate fertilisers. It provides around 140 direct and 350 indirect jobs.

According to the Cabinet’s statement, the company plans to expand the factory onto an additional 28,000 square metres with investments of around $45 million.

The expansion will raise the factory’s annual phosphate fertiliser production capacity to 375,000 tons and add 120,000 tons of sulphuric acid production annually.

The project operates within the industrial developer Egyptian-Chinese Joint Investment Company (ECC). The expansion aims to boost production and export capacity and increase the project’s contribution to Egypt’s agricultural sector.
