Egypt’s private sector accounted for 98 per cent of job vacancies in 2023, according to a report issued on Tuesday by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The findings are based on employment, wages, and working hours surveys, which assess labour market demand and required skills across both public and private sectors, the statement added.
The CAPMAS released data showing a total of 511,483 job openings in 2023, with only 8,359 positions available in the public business sectors, in contrast to 503,124 in the private sector.
