Egypt’s stock market indices end lower, EGX 30 loses 1.26% on Thursday

Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index tumbling 1.26 percent to 10,844 points.

The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) lost 0.85 percent to 2,066 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped fell 0.84 percent to 13,062 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 went down 0.82 percent to 3,001 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 sank 1.20 percent at 2,200 points.

Market Cap   

Total market capitalisation has incurred losses worth 3.7 billion Egyptian pounds ($235.5 million) to close at 645.718 billion pounds on Thursday.

Trading Aggregates          

Also on Thursday, the trading value has approximately reached 1.6 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 468.9 million securities executed 41,950 transactions.
