Egypt’s stocks close higher on Monday, benchmark EGX 30 gains 0.55%

Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index adding 0.55 percent to 10,450 points.

The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) surged 1.75 percent to 1,970 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped grew 0.62 percent to 12,894 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 moved higher 1.48 percent to 2,911 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 gained 1.56 percent to 2,029 points.

Market Cap   

Total market capitalisation has on Monday posted gains worth 4.6 billion Egyptian pounds ($293.2 million), ending the trading at 653.209 billion pounds boosted by local investors’ buying appetite.

Trading Aggregates            

Trading value has approximately reached around 5.6 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 547.587 million securities executed 43,553 transactions.
