Egypt’s stocks conclude fruitful week with $1.107 gains

Egypt’s stocks market concluded profitable week with gains worth 8.669 billion Egyptian pounds (US$ 1.107 billion), backed by local and foreign investors’ buying appetite.

Market capitalisation recorded 411.561 pounds during the closing session of Thursday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 edged up 3 percent to 6563.65 points.

EGX50 EWI index climbed 1.37 percent to 1227.78 points.

EGX20 grew 3.31 percent to 6562.2 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 hiked 0.20 percent to 354.45 points. Price index, EGX100 increased 0.68 percent to 735.13 points.

Turnovers high

On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 420.257 million securities, with turnovers closed at 1.178 billion pounds, exchanged through 32,994 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 182 listed securities have been traded in; 42 declined, 105 advanced; while 30 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local and foreign investors were net buyers Thursday capturing 74.84 and 15.72 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 11.431 million pounds and 38.438 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Arab investors were net sellers getting 9.44 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 49.870 million pounds, excluding the deals.
