Egypt’s stocks shut mostly higher on Monday

Egypt’s stock market closed trading higher; as main index, EGX30 pick up 0.38 percent, to 7628.64 points.

Other indices; EGX50 EWI index remained with no change, at 1361.42 points; while EGX20 added 0.36 percent, to 8012.48 points.

Mid- and small-cap index EGX70 dropped 0.19 percent, to 359.38 points. Price index, EGX100 dipped 0.09 percent, to 769.38 points.

Market Caps

Market capitalisation posted gains worth 565 million Egyptian pounds ($63.6 million), to record 406.232 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.

Turnovers

The bourse’s trading volume reached 195.910 million securities, with turnovers, closing at 709.686 million pounds, exchanged through 18,359 transactions.

Also during the closing session, 168 listed securities have been traded in, 62 declined, 57 advanced; while 46 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local and Arab investors were net buyers controlling 82.5 and 5.3 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 35.148 million pounds and 24.266 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, non-Arab foreign investors were net sellers capturing 12.2 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 59.414 million pounds, excluding the deals.
