Egypt’s strategic wheat reserves cover up to 7 months – PM

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly assured that the strategic wheat reserve can cover the domestic consumption for more than seven months, according to an official statement on Thursday.

About five million families will receive cash support, which represents quarter of the Egyptian population, Madbouly explained.

The population growth is the great challenge as Madbouly pointed out that this year the number of births will be 2 million and 185 thousand.

Egypt receives 1.6 million births every year, stressing that this large number of population increase will not show the effort made by the state.

The Prime Minister stressed that Egypt’s economy is strong and capable of facing challenges.
