Egypt’s Supply: Strategic Wheat To Last December-End

Mamdouh Abdel Fattah, Vice President of the Supply Commodities Authority (SCA), has asserted that the country’s strategic wheat reserves should last until December 26, 2013.

Abdel Fattah added that the total domestic wheat supplies were 3.675 million tons with 41.000 tons decreasing ,compared to 3.716 million tons in the same period of 2012.

 He has noted that Al-Sharqia governorate ranked first within the current season as the most governorate supplies wheat, recording about 141.791 thousand tons,

 Abdel Fattah has pointed out that EGP 9.6 billion paid as the entire value of wheat for farmers of the total funds allocated by the previous government worth $ 11 billion earmarked for supplying domestic wheat this season.

 Abdel Fattah has further  confirmed that the supplies of August is safe and does not have deficit, pointing out that the sugar balance is sufficient about 6 months and the oil will last in the next September 2013, but the rice balance is enough until the mid August, many tenders are currently doing for supplying rice.
