Egypt’s Tourism Companies to resume their Umrah Flights

Alaa Al Ghamry, Board’s member of Egyptian Travel Agents Association (ETAA), emphasized that the Egyptian tourism companies overcame the crisis of recalling the Saudi ambassador from Egypt and shutting the embassy in Cairo.

Al Ghamry said about 4000 Umrah flights have been postponed as the airlines companies and the Saudi agents responded to the association over postponing the companies’ reservation, moreover, no fines have been imposed over postponing the flights.

On the other side, Amr Seda’ay, board’s member in ETAA, said the Saudi tourism coming to Egypt hasn’t influenced with the crisis between the Egyptian Saudi relations; referring to the Egyptian delegation visit to Saudi  contributed to reactivating the Saudi tourism. But it may be influenced by the incidents of Abbassiya district, especially the downtown district is the Saudis’ favorite destination.

It is known that Saudi Arabia is one of the 10 biggest countries encourages tourism in Egypt. Saudi tourism in q1 reached about 220 thousands tourists.
