El Alamein Airport is ready to receive airline flights in March – minister

Egypt’s El Alamein International Airport will be ready to receive regular flights starting from next March, according to Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas said on Tuesday.

Abbas made his remarks during civil aviation editors’ first press conference, to review the most important projects had implemented and future plans of the civil aviation sector.

He added that the development work in terminal two at Borg El Arab Airport was supposed to be finished and inaugurated in March, but has been extended to July.

Egyptian airports achieved the highest operation rates in 2022 after overcoming the global corona crisis, as Cairo airport witnessed the departure and travel of 77,000 passengers on the last day of last year.

Egypt airlines has seen an update to its fleet and expansion in the air network, as it reaches 70 points and about 1200 points through its membership in the International Star Alliance.
