Euro area GDP increased by 0.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2024, seasonally adjusted, matching the growth rate from the first quarter, according to a flash estimate published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union on Wednesday. The European Union (EU) also saw a 0.3 per cent increase in GDP during the same period.
Year-on-year, GDP increased by 0.6 per cent in the euro area and by 0.8 per cent in the EU during the second quarter of 2024. These figures represent a slight uptick from the previous quarter, when GDP had grown by 0.5 per cent in the euro area and by 0.6 per cent in the EU.
