Europe Stocks Track Asia Lower, Pressure On Autos

European stock markets opened mostly lower on Wednesday, tracking losses seen in Asia markets, as investors questioned whether the rally in global equities has been overdone.

Wall Street stocks finished mostly lower, though the Dow industrials turned around late in the session to rise to a record. The Stoxx Europe 600 index fell 0.2% to 294.87, with the biggest losses in the U.K., where the FTSE 100 index fell 0.4% to 6,481.86.

The German DAX 30 index fell 0.1% to 7,956.13, while the French CAC 40 index fell 0.2% to 3,833.49. Among individual names, Spanish retailer Inditex SA fell over 3% after the clothing retailer issued disappointing full-year results.
