EXCLUSIVE: ‘Short Circuit’ causes Fire in Egypt Supply Ministry Building

The fire broke out in the Egyptian Supply Ministry’s building Sunday was due to electrical short circuit, minister Khaled Hanafy told Amwal Al Ghad.

The fire was erupted on Sunday in the fourth floor of Ministry’s building in Downtown but it was under control as three fire trucks were dispatched to the scene, Hanafy stated.

He asserted that no one has been injured and the investigations are being conducted to make sure about the reason behind the fire and its results.

This is the second fire to erupt in a government building in Cairo in recent months.

The Cairo conference centre caught fire in March, leaving at least 40 injured. Civil protection forces flocked to the conference centre to put out the major fire and a military aircraft assisted with controlling the flames.
