ExxonMobil aims to increase investments in Egypt – ministry

U.S. oil company ExxonMobil aims to increase its investments and develop its activities in fuel marketing and distribution filed in Egypt, Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum announced on Wednesday.

Minister Tarek el-Molla has received a delegation from ExxonMobil headed by Hugo Detry, regional head of fuel retail marketing and sales in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

el-Molla praised the company’s great interest in enhancing its activities and investments in Egypt and the continuous development to meet the needs of consumers.

The company’s current program focuses on expanding the establishment of service and bunkering stations for cars in Mobil stations, as new stations will operated in the future, according to the ministry’s statement.

He stressed that ExxonMobil is an important global partner for Egypt and a leading role in providing fuel marketing and distribution activities in the local market with international standards.

Moreover, el-Molla followed up on the ongoing cooperation with the company in order to provide supplying natural gas service to cars in part of Mobil stations in cooperation with Gastec and Car Gas companies.

This cooperation considered as an implementation the rapid deployment plan of this service for the convenience of its users.

ExxonMobil expressed its readiness to discuss joint cooperation with Egypt during the COP27 conference, which will held in Sharm El Sheikh next November, in implementation of environmental sustainability policies.
