Finland sends Delegation to Cairo to bolster ICT Ties

Egyptian Minister of Information, Communication  and Technology Khaled Negm has received Wednesday Finland’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade, Matti Anttonen and his accompanying delegation.

The Finnish Deputy Minister is currently on a visit to Cairo on top of a businessmen delegation.

During the meeting, officials discussed the means to enhance cooperation between the two countries in different domains related to communications and information technology, activate frameworks for economic cooperation between Egypt and Finland in different fields especially those related to ICT.

The visit reflects Finland interest to enhance economic cooperation with Egypt in different fields on top of which comes the ICT sector.

The delegation was formed of three ICT companies in Finland including Broad Folio Company for business development consultancies representing their services for major companies in markets in Middle East and Africa region, Control Software specialized in automation, and Nokia, the leading company in networks and advanced technology.

Negm has ascertained the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology keenness to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Finland in different domains that distinguishes Finland, in order to benefit from the Finnish expertise in related fields on top of which: technology innovation and entrepreneurship, green technology and e-health services, cyber security and broadband.

This is in addition to cooperation between Smart Village in Egypt and its counterpart in Finland, encouraging small and medium investments and providing adequate climate for cooperation between the private sector in both countries, in addition to research and development in ICT industry.
