Galaxia Tours Loses 12% of Its Tourists

Mohamed Hassanin, Head of Galaxia Tours, said the number of tourists that the company receives declined by 12%, compared to the company’s rate of 2010.

He emphasized the deterioration of tourism traffic this year, compared to the rates last year; in particular the cultural tourism in Luxor and Aswan which represents 95% of the company’s touristic processes, in addition to declining  the touristic programs by 40%.

The security instability caused the decline of the tourism traffic; rather it needs no less than 2 years to reinstate the normal rates of tourism. This decline is also influenced by the economic problems in several European countries.

The company depends on many touristic markets to attract tourism to Egypt; such as the Spanish market which represents 60% of the company’s business, besides the Brazilian and Portuguese markets which represent 10%.

He mentioned that the company depends on the fairs and exterior visits to market its business, plus 3 offices in China, 1 office in Spain, and 2 representatives in Mexico and Brazil.
