Germany is Egypt’s 8th biggest EU investor: minister

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Germany reached around €5 billion (5.6 billion) throughout 2015, Egyptian industry minister Tarek Qabil announced Thursday.

Germany is one of Egypt’s EU key trade partners, the Egyptian minister said.

In 2015, Egypt’s exports to Germany recorded €1.7 billion; while imports hit €3.4 billion approximately.

The Egyptian minister further said during a business meeting in Berlin on Thursday that Germany is the eighth biggest EU investor in Egypt, recording investments worth €592 million by the end of April 2016, in sectors of tourism, industry, construction, and information technology.
