Gold prices in Egypt slid today, Tuesday, 12 May 2026

Gold prices in Egypt edged lower on Tuesday, tracking a mild decline in international bullion markets and fluctuations in the local currency, according to market data.

By 16:10 Cairo time (13:10 GMT), 24-carat gold was trading at 7,988.5 Egyptian pounds per gram, down 17.25 pounds, or 0.22 per cent, from 8,005.75 pounds in the previous session.

Gold prices in Egypt typically move in line with global bullion trends, while also reflecting local demand conditions and fluctuations in the Egyptian pound.

On international markets, gold was trading at around $4,695.49 per ounce, while the US dollar stood at 52.9674 Egyptian pounds.
