Gulf deposits to Egypt sharply fall to $2 bln in 2016: official

Deposits from the Gulf to Egypt’s central bank (CBE) have fallen to record $2 billion during 2016, from $31 billion earlier in 2011, CBE governor Tarek Amer said Monday.

“This fall has affected indeed the CBE’s foreign currency liquidity,” Amer added during a conference in Cairo held earlier on Monday.
