HSBC Oman merges with Sohar International Bank

HSBC Bank Oman merged with Sohar International Bank of Oman on Thursday, according to Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX).

Sohar International Bank welcomed its newly migrated customers advising them to activate their debit and credit cards by downloading and registering on the Sohar International App.

“It is with great pleasure we welcome you to Sohar International as we ink a new chapter of ‘wins’ with you and for you.” said Ahmed Al Musalmi, CEO of Sohar International Bank.

The shareholders of Sohar International Bank voted in favour of the merger during the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in late June 2023.

The shareholders of HSBC Bank Oman also voted in favour of the merger. After the merger, HSBC Oman entity will be dissolved, said the Sohar bank.
