Huawei inks digital transformation MoUs for Egypt oil sector at EGYPS

Chinese tech giant Huawei has signed a MoU with Egypt’s state-run Co-Operation Petroleum Company (Copetrol) and another with Egyptian Maintenance Company (EMC) to support digital transformation plans in the Petroleum field, at EGYPS on Wednesday.

The Chinese company will provide EMC with IP protocol solutions, fiber products and wireless products, as well as data computing and artificial intelligence solutions for use in all its current and future maintenance projects.

Huawei will provide the Egyptian oil and gas giant with consultancy services as well as cutting-edge tech solutions for upgrading the company’s fuel stations as part of digital transformation efforts in Egypt.

Jim Liu, CEO of Huawei Egypt said “the company will provide its global solutions and expertise to help develop the petroleum and energy sector, increase its productivity and accelerate its digital transformation.”

Worth mentioning that Huawei has implemented ICT solutions for the oil and gas sector in more than 45 oil and gas producing countries around the world, which aligns with Sustainable Development Strategies 2030.
