ILO: SMEs key vehicle for women, refugees’ employment

Entrepreneurship and SMEs provide a tremendous opportunity for a decent employment of the most vulnerable in the society, including women and refugees, said director of the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Cairo office on Tuesday.

Large corporations can not alone fill the growing social and economic needs of all society segments, said Eric Oechslin at the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) World Congress taking place in Cairo.

Unlike, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) are the most important vehicle for job creation, Oechslin explained.

The ICSB World Congress 2019 is taking place in Cairo between June 18th – June 21st.  Founded in 1955, the ICSB is a non-profit organisation devoted to continuing management education for entrepreneurs and small business.
