IMF revises Egypt’s 2025 growth forecast downwards

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised its growth forecast for Egypt downwards, projecting the economy to expand by 3.6 per cent in 2025, a 0.5 percentage point decrease from its October 2024 estimate, according to the latest IMF’s World Economic Outlook Update, January 2025, released on Saturday.

This adjustment reflects the ongoing economic challenges facing the North African nation, including persistent inflationary pressures, fiscal constraints, and external vulnerabilities.
