IMF team to visit Tunisia in coming weeks

A team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is set to visit Tunisia in the coming weeks to inspect the latest economic and financial developments in the country.

The statement was made by Director of the IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department Jihad Azour at a press conference on Friday.

The press conference is dedicated to the launch of the IMF’s October 2023 Regional Economic Outlook for the Middle East and Central Asia «Building Resilience and Fostering Sustainable Growth.»

Azour also said that Tunisia should further decrease its monetary policy to be able to constrain the ongoing inflation.

According to the IMFm growth in a number of economies in the Middle East and Central Asia is slowing.

For the Middle East and North Africa, the IMF dropped the real GDP growth forecast to 2.0 percent for 2023.
