In 10 Months, Egypt offered EGP19 million aid for North Sinai Residents – Minister

Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity had provided North Sinai Governorate with EGP 19 million (around US$2.5million) in financial assistance during period from March 2014 till current February, minister Ghada Wali said.

She further stated that the solidarity pensions reached EGP 17.5 million (around US$ 2.2 million) in favour of 10.000 citizens, seizing 92% of the total financial assistance given to North Sinai.

The Egyptian minister also added that the ministry had provided EGP 89.000 exceptional aids for 297 citizens to improve their social conditions.

In addition, Wali also noted that 866 children in North Sinai governorate were given EGP 188.000 within the last 10 months, as pursuant to Egypt’s Child Law.

Moreover, Wali pointed out that the ministry had carried out 140 projects for productive families project in North Sinai worth EGP 44.000.
