Indian Investments In Egypt Amount To $2.5 bln: Navdeep Suri

The Indian ambassador to Cairo, Navdeep Suri, has stated that the Indian Investments in Egypt amount to $ 2.5 billion, represented in 50 investing ventures work in numerous activities, like paints, ready-made garments, chemicals and information technology, besides other industries.

“There are new investments injected by Indian investors in the past period, and the Indian government provides 100 annual internships to Egypt, especially in the field of technical training for engineers”, said Navdeep Suri.

The Indian ambassador and the Minister of Water Resources Irrigation, Bahaa El Din Saad, had inaugurated a new irrigation plant called “Benban” In Aswan, and another plant in Luxor.

Mustafa Abu Zeid, head of the Mechanical and Electrical department in the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, said there is a close cooperation between the Indian company and the Mechanical and Electrical Department because of its broad experience in this field.

There is an ongoing cooperation with the officials to send many Egyptian engineers and technicians to get training in the factories in India, to be able to manage these giant plants, Abu Zeid said.
