Indian rupee hits 3-week high on weaker dollar

The Indian rupee climbed to its highest level in over three weeks on Tuesday, bolstered by anticipated dollar inflows and a weaker US dollar, which hovered near a five-month low against major currencies.

The rupee touched a session high of 86.54 against the US dollar—its strongest level since February 21—before closing at 86.57, registering a gain of over 0.2 percent.
