Ireland Lifts Travel Ban on Egypt’ Sharm El-Sheikh

Ireland has lifted its travel warnings for Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh city in the light of the improved political and security situation, Egyptian Tourism Ministry announced Saturday.

This comes after another European country; Denmark had recently lifted its travel warnings for the cities of Cairo, Alexandria and Sharm El-Sheikh. Germany and Italy had also removed their travel warnings against travelling to Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh.

In this respect, Egyptian Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou has described the European states’ decisions to lift travel warning to the Arab country as ‘positive indications’ in favour of Egypt’s tourism industry.

The Egyptian minister has been trying to remove all such warnings imposed by European countries since February, when a bomb blast on a tour bus in South Sinai killed three South Koreans and their Egyptian driver and raised concerns about safety in Red Sea resorts.
