Israeli army withdraws from Gaza’s Al-Shifa hospital

The Israeli occupation forces declared their withdrawal from Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital, after a ‘targeted operation’ within the hospital, on Wednesday.

The raid came after Israeli claims that Hamas was utilising the hospital as a command centre.

Initially, the occupation forces justified their raid into the hospital by ‘intelligence information and operational necessity’.

Nevertheless Gaza’s government media office stated that the Israeli army was unable to prove their claims and referred to the narrative as ‘lies’.

Al-Shifa Hospital’s fate has drawn international attention due to the deteriorating conditions within the facility, including fuel and medicine shortages as well as heavy airstrikes.

Israel’s presence in the hospital has only exacerbated these conditions, leading to further deterioration of Gaza’s medical services.

The attacks within the hospital has been met with widespread criticism, not only for its impact on the hospital’s conditions but also for its legal implications.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry accused Israel of violating international law by conducting a military operation inside the hospital.
