J.K. Rowling’s tweets advice to an Egyptian young female writer: Turn Their Laughter ‘Into Fuel!’

J.K. Rowling uses her Twitter account to spread both news about the world of Harry Potter and good sense.  That’s what she was doing when she sent “big hugs” to a young female writer in Egypt Saturday who had Tweeted her, “You inspired me to write. However, in Egypt, girls can’t do anything freely as boys. They laugh at me when I say I am a writer.”

To that, Rowling, 50, said, “Don’t you dare let their laughter extinguish your ambition. Turn it into fuel!

“Big hugs from one writer to another x”

Rowling has a history of reaching out to her fans, as she did in May when one Tweeted her asking what to do if they wanted to “finally give up.”

But heartwarming messages weren’t all Rowling shared on Saturday.

She also revealed a bit of info about the characters in her forthcoming film Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them.

“Well, I think it’s widely known that that characters of (Porpen)tina and Queenie are sisters, but not that their surname is Goldstein,” Rowling wrote, referring to two of the characters – played by Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol – in the Harry Potter prequel.

Fantastic Beasts follows the adventures of Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s leading magizoologist to be played by Eddie Redmayne.
