Korean car sales seize 30% of Egypt’s automotive market

The sales of Korean personal car market in Egypt hit 7.3 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of October 2015, capturing 30.2 percent of the Egyptian automotive market.

Korean personal cars were able to sell 49,300 units of the total market sales of 163,000 units (28 billion pounds).

The Hyundai Verna topped the list with more than 18,200 cars sold, the most sold in Egypt, with sales of EGP 1.7bn in 2015, as it is the cheapest Korean car in the Egyptian market.

The Hyundai IX35 achieved sales of about EGP 1.5bn during the same period, taking second place with sales of 6,372 cars. The Hyundai Elantra came in third, achieving sales of EGP 1.01bn by selling 5,971 cars.
