Majid Al-Futtaim opens first Carrefour mall in Ismailia worth EGP200mln investments

Majid Al-Futtaim Retail inaugurated in cooperation with the National Service Projects Organization the first Carrefour retail stores in Ismailia with total investments of 200 million Egyptian pounds ($11.859 million).

Herve Majidier Chief Operating Officer at Majid Al Futtaim Retail said that the new retail mall includes 14 different trademarks on an area of 14 thousand metre square creating one thousand direct and indirect job opportunities.

He added that the company has determined 700 million pounds investments during the current year.

He further told Amwal Al Ghad that that these investments are part of the company’s target to add 15 new branches in Cairo, Delta, Alexandria and Qena during the current year, bringing the number of branches in Egypt to about 60 by the end of this year.

He added that that Ismailia mall is the first of 100 Carrefour retail stores which the company has signed an agreement with Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation and the National Service Project of the Armed Forces to establish.

On the other hand, Jean Luc Graziato – Country Manager Carrefour Egypt said that establishing the new mall in Ismailia reflects Majid Al Futtaim‘s commitment to support the Egyptian social and economic development and contribute in establishing Egypt’s 2030 vision.
