Media Coverage of Current Situation in Egypt ‘Biased’ – Ambassador Says

Egypt’s Ambassador to Sanaa Ashraf Aql has held a press conference at the embassy on Thursday inviting a number of news agencies, channels and newspapers delegates. H.E. Aql has presented an overview of the January 25th Revolution and the successive events which have ended with the second wave of the revolution by June 30th and its repercussions. He has also referred to the ‘biased’ media coverage of the ongoing developments in Egypt.

He assured that Egyptian authorities maintain the safety of the citizens, noting that they have exerted the efforts so as to use the peaceful methods to clear out the protest camps in Rabaa Al-Adaweya and Nahda demanding the reinstate of the deposed president Mohamed Morsi.

Egyptian security forces have showed self-restraint during dispersing the pro-Morsi protest sit-ins.

He also confirmed the Egypt’s current administration insists on taking all the necessary measures in order to secure the will of the nation and to protect the  national security by all legal means.
