Misr Insurance Urges Electricity Holding Co. To Issue Insurance Policy During Operating Period
The Egyptian Electricity Holding Company has been urged by Misr Insurance Company (Non-life) to ask for an insurance policy that covers the electrical transformers and equipments during the operating period, said Saad Marzouk, general manager of engineering insurance sector Misr Insurance Company.
One of the main obstacles facing insurance companies in insuring electricity companies is that the latter seek insurance coverage during the building and construction period only, but not during the operating period.
During its meeting with Misr Insurance Company, the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company said it will consider the issue to come up a solution as the main obstacle here is providing the required liquidity as establishing electrical power plants require large finances.
A conference will be held tomorrow under the auspices of Misr Insurance Company that will be attended by all the top officials of electricity companies to discuss the different insurance coverage during the operating period.
