Misr Insurance wins Mahmoudia Power Plant’s $220 million Policy

Misr Insurance Company, leading insurer in MENA region, has won a US$220 million insurance policy for a power plant in Egypt’s Beheria governorate.

The insurance policy is in favour of Mahmoudia Power Plant, sources with knowledge of the matter told Amwal Al Ghad on Monday.

The power plant has two units with total production capacity of 336MW.

With total sum insured of US$220 million, the policy will insure against dangers of installation, tests, maintenance, and civil liabilities in addition to the risks of riots and unrest, the sources added.

The insurance policy is a one-year term.
