Mona El Sayed resigns from HSBC Egypt – Sources

Mona El Sayed has stepped down as head of commercial banking for HSBC Bank Egypt, sources from the bank with knowledge of the matter told Amwal Al Ghad on Monday.

The sources stated that El Sayed had resigned without mentioning reasons behind her decision, ruling out receiving offers from other banks working in the Egyptian market.

Mona EL Sayed joined the HSBC Group in Egypt in 1995 as a Corporate Banker. During her 14 years of Corporate Banking, she took an active role in leading and driving cross border deals, project finance, M&A finance and credit portfolio risk management. In 2010, she moved to head the Bank’s Business & Global Transaction Banking operations covering Payments & Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade and Receivables’ Finance and SMEs, with a mandate to drive business transformation, accelerated growth and align with Group Target Operating Models.

In Jan 2014, Mona was appointed Head of Commercial Banking in HSBC Egypt.
