Motor Insurance Committee Studies Car Theft Cases In 2012

The Motor Insurance Committee at the Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE) is set to study and discuss the car theft cases occurred in 2012, said Wedad Hassan, head of committee.

Such move is part of the committee’s plan to study the effects of the regulation no.52 issued at the beginning of 2012 which states that the customer shall incur either 25% of the value of car compensation or a 50% increase in the charges of car thefts, she noted.

The committee will decide whether to extend the implementation of such regulation for another term or not depending on the results, she added.

The Miscellaneous Accident Insurance Committee considered in its meeting this week developing the personal accident insurance policy which has not been changed since its issuance in 1994.
