Nestlé’ Egypt says started a recycling project two months ago

Nestlé’ Egypt, part of Swiss food giant Nestlé’, said on Monday that it had started operating a project for recycling packaging materials two months ago.

The company has begun coordinating with the Health Ministry for procedures to recycle its industrial waste, its chief executive Moataz El Hout told Amwal Al Ghad.

Food and beverage makers have increasingly come under pressure from consumers and environmental groups for using too much plastic. Nestle has pledged to make all of its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025, and it said aims to reduce use of newly made plastic by a third by the same year.
